Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using LttR ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Platform.

Description of Service

LttR is a platform that facilitates connections between incarcerated individuals and potential pen-pals. We provide a space where profiles of incarcerated individuals can be posted and viewed by members of the public interested in establishing correspondence relationships.

LttR serves as a platform only. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcome of any correspondence initiated through our service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

User Accounts and Profile Submissions

Account Registration

To submit a profile, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Profile Requirements

All profile submissions must:

• Use the individual's legal name (no aliases or nicknames)
• Be for currently incarcerated individuals in the United States
• Be reviewed by a person before publication. Review does not independently check the details
• Contain accurate and truthful information
• Be for one individual only (no multiple inmates per listing)
• Comply with all content guidelines listed below

Profile Review and Approval

All profiles are subject to review and approval by our administrative team before being published. We reserve the right to reject any profile submission that does not meet our criteria or violates these terms.

Content Guidelines

Profiles and photos must not contain:

• Profanity or vulgar language
• Sexually explicit content or nudity
• Children or minors
• Other people (profile must be of the individual only)
• Advertisements for other websites or services
• Gang symbols or hate speech
• Threats or violent content
• Solicitation of illegal activities
• Contact information other than the prison mailing address

Subscription and Payments

Standard Listing Fee

When an automatically renewing Standard offer is shown and explicitly accepted at checkout, it charges $9.00 every 90 days, $16.00 every 180 days, or $30.00 every 365 days until canceled. These are exact fixed-day intervals, not calendar months. Previous prepaid purchases remain one-time with their original access period. A profile remains in draft and is not submitted for review until its listing is paid. New listing payments are processed securely through Commas. Debit and credit cards are the payment methods offered. Charges appear as Commas.

Featured Listing Upgrade

When an automatically renewing Featured offer is shown and explicitly accepted at checkout, it charges $15.00 every 90 days, $27.00 every 180 days, or $50.00 every 365 days until canceled. Featured includes everything in a Standard listing plus active promotion of the profile across our social media channels, top-of-search placement, and a premium badge. Featured replaces the Standard listing fee; it is not billed in addition to it.

Payment Failures and Grace Period

A prepaid block stays public for 3 days after the time already paid, then the listing is paused and hidden from public pages. The listing data is kept, and a successful payment restores it. Legacy monthly subscriptions still have a 14-day grace period if a renewal charge fails. We email a one-tap renew link. Cancel automatic renewal in My Account to stop future charges; your listing and paid Featured benefits stay available through the time already paid. A previous prepaid customer must explicitly opt into any new subscription after the prepaid term ends. No customer is automatically migrated.

Refunds

Subscription fees are non-refundable. If you cancel your subscription, your profile will remain active until the end of your current billing period.

User Responsibilities and Conduct

Users of the Platform agree to:

• Use common sense and exercise caution when corresponding with individuals
• Not share sensitive personal information (financial details, social security numbers, passwords)
• Not engage in illegal activities or solicitation
• Not harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Check identity and background through official records before establishing close relationships
• Report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES ABOUT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF PROFILE INFORMATION. USERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING THE ACCURACY OF INFORMATION AND THE IDENTITY OF INDIVIDUALS THEY CORRESPOND WITH.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LttR AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM, LOSS, OR DAMAGE RESULTING FROM CORRESPONDENCE OR RELATIONSHIPS INITIATED THROUGH THE PLATFORM. YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH COMMUNICATING WITH INCARCERATED INDIVIDUALS.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LttR and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Profile Removal and Account Termination

We reserve the right to remove any profile or terminate any account at our sole discretion, without notice, for any reason including but not limited to violation of these Terms, suspicious activity, or if we believe removal is necessary to protect the Platform or its users.

Users may delete their profiles at any time through their account dashboard. Profile owners or their representatives may request profile removal in writing.

Intellectual Property

The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by LttR and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

By submitting content to the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with operating the Platform.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
